Birthday Bash card tutorial

by Kinjal Trivedi

Hello all. Thank you for stopping by. Today I am sharing a fun and easy birthday card with all the yummy goodness! The highlighted product is the Bring on The Cake stamp set.

I started with printing the yummy cake, cupcake, and gift images from the stamp set and colored them using markers and pencils. I fussy cut all the images and then set them aside.

Now it’s time to make the background. I wanted a fun background, and my mind immediately went to making a shaker card. However, my last card was a shaker, so I ditched that idea and looked in my stash to find this fun background die from Gina Marie Designs. Before that, I colored a white cardstock using Distress Ink Cracked Pistachio, Squeezed Lemonade, and Distress Oxide Worn Lipstick.

I took another plain white cardstock and die-cut the Gina Marie background die. I took the circle sheet and placed it in front of the colored background as a template to adhere the white dots. This took some time, but I slowly stuck all the dots and then lifted the panel. I also die-cut the border with this cross-stitched border die from Pinkfresh Studios. I gave it some more fun dimension. Finally, I splattered some pearl paint in white, green, and pink.

I added some double-sided foam tape to the fussy-cut images. I also used the Bring on The Cake Alphabet and printed them in black and white so that I could color them in shades of blue and purple. I fussy cut the word and added the die birthday on the top to read Birthday Bash. Next, I adhered the images corresponding the each of the colors. Finally, I added some clay heart embellishments from Twiddler’s Nook.

I love creating fun backgrounds and hope you liked it as well. Thank you for spending time with me. See you next time!

About Kinjal Trivedi

I am Kinjal Trivedi, known as Mind My Paper on social media. Cardmaking fell into my lap when I moved to the USA in 2015, after getting married to my husband. I needed a way to find my creative outlet being away from my loved ones and cardmaking stole my heart. Although I didn’t seriously craft till 2021, that’s when I started blogging, working on DT teams and self-taught my way to happiness. I have since moved from the USA and travel the world every few years and cardmaking has been and is my main constant. I hope you find joy in my cards and know that they come from a place of love. I am so happy to spend the next few months here with Kate and her brilliantly fun and cute designs. Thanks for spending time with me!
