I’ve shared a few creative planners here on the blog before, today I’m excited to be sharing my own planner with you! I have been using a modified bullet journal system for my day-to-day and business planning for a few years now (you can see more about the original bullet journal system here) but I’ve been intrigued by the amazing, artistic planners I’ve seen on Instagram and in the digiscrap galleries for a long time now. So, when I saw that my pal Michelle from Quirky Heart was hosting a creative planning class earlier this year I jumped in and signed up straight away!
Michelle’s course was very inspiring for me and helped me formulate how best to use my planners for productivity AND creativity! I am still using my everyday bullet journal for my everyday business, personal planning and task lists (that journal is made up of lists and notes in plain ballpoint pen, no creativity or decorating in sight!) but I’ve also started another journal that I am treating as part sketchbook and part memory keeping project.
I’m recording events and details of everyday life that I want to remember in that new journal, and I’m decorating it and drawing in it too. And I have to say, I’m really enjoying the combination of creative expression and memory keeping!
I’ve been making both weekly and monthly spreads, with the odd extra memory-keeping or tracker type page included here and there. I’m sure my journals will change and evolve as I continue to use them over time, it’s exciting to see where all this will take me! Here are some pages from my new bullet journal / creative planner:
