Von Marie’s family pet photo frame

by Von Marie

Hello everyone. Von Marie here with my latest project. I chose to do a Ferret photo keepsake photo frame for a gift. This can be considered Home Decor. How fun would this be for a Father’s day gift?

I will be using a photo of my Ferret Jonas that I once had as a pet. I do miss this little guy.

I started out with picking my files. I chose Everyday Extras for the Bold Frame and My Kinda Pets 2 for the Ferret image. I never know what size I want so I usually make 2 different sizes of the same image. I figure I can use what I don’t use on a future project.  On this page I printed  more images from Everyday Extras even though I did not use them for this project.

I started fussy cutting the frame image with my scissors. If you have an electrical cutting machine you can use that to cut your digital images. I also cut around Jonas. I probably should have done that later, but it still will be great.

Next, I used a Exacto craft knife and mat to cut the inner rectangle out of my frame. You can use a die if you have one.

I started coloring in the frame with a alcohol Ohuhu marker and ink blended the inner frame with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress ink and a blending tool.

I also grabbed some thin cardboard. You can use a cereal box or anything like a chipboard as a backing for your frame to make it more sturdy. If you don’t have anything like that you can layer cardstock.  I colored the ferret stamped image and fussy cut around it using my scissors.

Now it was time to put the photo frame together.  I used liquid glue and arranged everything to my liking. I also found a sentiment strip that I feel describes Jonas. He loved naps.  He had a swinging Hammock. He was so cute.

I then used a metal hole puncher to make 2 holes so that I could tie some thick twine to knot and hang this cute frame.

I had so much fun putting this Photo Frame Decor together. I love seeing Jonas displayed in my craft room. This is a great gift to make for someone or yourself using maybe a dog, fish, lizard, cat or even a family photo would be great.

Until Next Time!
