Spring Showers card tutorial

As the saying goes…you can’t have flowers without the rain! Hello everyone! I hope spring is just popping up where you live! Today I’m sharing this cute spring rain card using the Signs of Spring Digital Stamp Set. This has so many elements so there are plenty of ways to use this set!

Let me show you how I made my card.

I started by composing my card in the computer. I went through several size changes until I achieved what I wanted. I also used a piece of digital paper behind my design for a gray sky.

I kept the coloring of this card to a minimum. There really wasn’t much to color.

Copic colors used: YR04, YR07, BV000, BV00, B63, BV04, V04, YG11, YG23, YG63, B60, Blender. Once this coloring was done the crocus flower looked really too dark for me.

I used my Copic Blender to lighten the flower at the base of the petals. Once this was completely dry I really liked how it looked. I used the B60 to shade the raindrops and to shade the storm cloud. It’s a very light color, but it looked good and just gave a hint of shading.

I used some letter stickers from my stash and adhered them to the cloud in a slight curve.

I adhered some sparkly gems to some of the raindrops. For the broken lines underneath the cloud I used a silver glitter gel pen and also on the raindrops that did not have gems.

All of my layers were done. I used an A2 size top folding white note card, a panel of paper from my stash that was cut 1/8″ less, and then adhered my trimmed colored panel on top of that.
