Sasha’s Happy New Year card

by Sasha

Hello everyone, Sasha here, and Happy New Year! 2024 was a year of crafty fun, and I can’t wait to share even more projects in 2025!

To start off the New Year, I wanted to share a New Year-themed card featuring the Bundled Up Digital Stamp Set! It’s no secret that I love punny sentiments, so what better way to start the New Year than with a good play on words? I used several images from the Bundled Up Stamp Set – a mug, mitten, and hat – to go along with the sentiment “Wishing You a Warm New Year!”

I started by uploading a few images from the Bundled Up Stamp Set into Cricut Design Space to help me plan, design, and size the images for a US A2-sized card. I duplicated the images and arranged them to cover the card’s front panel, almost like a pattern. I also used Cricut Design Space to create the sentiment for my card. Once ready, I then print the images onto an alcohol marker-friendly cardstock and cut them out. I used 100lb Hammermill cardstock. As for the sentiment strip, I rounded the corners using a corner punch.

Now, it’s time to colour! Using a blue and purple colour scheme, I used the following Ohuhu alcohol markers to colour the images:

  • Blue: B030, B050, B070, B080
  • Purple: V230, V270, V250, V320
  • Grey: CG020, CG030, CG050
  • Brown (hot chocolate): E310

To create a simple background for the card, I used matching blue ink; for this, I used Salty Ocean Distress Oxide and lightly ink-blended the blue around the corners of the card front.

To finish off the card, I glued the images and sentiment onto the card and trimmed off the excess that was overhanging the card.

And there you have it! That’s the completed card project!

As I already mentioned, I can’t wait to do even more craft projects this year and am looking forward to sharing another crafty year with all of you! Thanks for reading! See you next time!
