Hello everyone! Earth Day is a wonderful opportunity to honour our planet and reflect on the importance of caring for nature. Although Earth Day is not typically an occasion associated with handmade greeting cards, I believe it’s a great opportunity to take a moment to appreciate the planet.

I’m using a couple of digital stamp sets for this card to bring a bright and cheerful Earth Day design to life. I am using the Happy Planet Digital Stamp Set and some foliage from the Animal Pals: Wolves Digital Stamp Set to add some greenery to the card.
To start, I uploaded my chosen images into Cricut Design Space. I used one of the basic shapes in the software to act as my card base, allowing me to plan the design for my card and size the images appropriately. I also used the Cricut software to create a sentiment for my card that says “Happy Earth Day.” Once ready, I printed the images onto 100lb Hammermill Cardstock – an alcohol marker-friendly paper and cut them using my Cricut cutting machine. You can also use any word-processing software, such as Microsoft Office or Google Docs, to size and print your images.

Once cut, I used the following Ohuhu alcohol markers to colour the images:
- Greens: G470, G190, G170, G130
- Blues: B080, B070, B050, B030

In addition to using alcohol markers, I also used a few Prismacolor Premier Coloured Pencils to colour the earth image further. I used the following colours for this:
- Prussian Green – PC 109
- Spring Green – PC 913
- Cerulean Blue – PC 103
- Electric Blue – PC 1040

To create the card’s background, I used green ink – for this, I used Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide – and ink-blended a green border onto my US A2-sized card base. I also used bleed-proof white paint and a fan brush to splatter white paint onto the card (because I can never resist some splatter!)

To finish off the card, I used liquid adhesive to adhere the images and sentiment to the card. I placed the earth image in the centre of the card and the green foliage around the card’s corners. I used scissors to trim off the foliage overhanging the card.

And just like that, the Earth Day card is complete! This project is a great way to combine creativity with a meaningful message, reminding us all to take care of our planet. Whether you gift it to someone or keep it as a little reminder, it’s a small but unique way to celebrate Earth Day.

Thanks for reading. See you next time! And happy Earth Day!
Sasha
