Sasha’s Halloween Monster Bookmark craft

by Sasha

Hello everyone! Sasha here. It’s October! Which means it’s time for some spooky crafting. So, let’s make… a bookmark? Although maybe not the scariest craft around, the new Colour-In Halloween Bookmarks are the perfect way to mark your place in any scary book you’re reading this Halloween season!

With eight spooky designs to choose from, the Colour-In Halloween Bookmarks includes a ready-to-print PDF, making it quick and easy to have some fun and get crafting!

I started by printing the PDF onto a sheet of cardstock. Since I will be colouring my bookmark using alcohol markers, I used 100lb Hammermill cardstock, my personal favourite for colouring with alcohol markers. Be sure to use suitable paper for whatever art supplies you will be using.

Once trimmed, I used orange and green Ohuhu alcohol markers to colour my bookmark. I used the following colours to bring my monster reading buddy to life:

  • Orange: YR180, YR3,Y10, YR4
  • Green: G7, G470, G190, G170

After I finished colouring my bookmark, I added a colourful orange backing with a piece of matching cardstock using liquid adhesive and punched a hole at the top to put a tassel.

To make the tassel, I wrapped some green yarn around a piece of cardstock. I wrapped my tassel around approximately twenty times. I then slid a piece of yarn through the top of the tassel and tied it. This piece of yarn will hold the tassel together. To finish the tassel, cut the bottom of the tassel. I also added a piece of yarn near the top of the tassel for a bit of extra decoration.

To finish the bookmark, I tied it through the hole at the top of the bookmark.

And there you have it! A simple and spooky Halloween bookmark, perfect for the season!

Thanks for reading. See you next time!
