Betsy’s Back To School Bookworms card

by Betsy Birge

Hello everyone! Betsy here bringing such a cute card that I created with the newly released Bookworm Buddies digital stamp set. This is so adorable and would be a fantastic card to give to a little one when gifting a book! Let me show you how I made my card!

I started by composing my elements. I quickly realized that I would have to be making a mini-slimline card. So I went with those measurements in mind, making sure I had enough room for them all. I used the Weekend At Home papers for and the background and Old Type Alpha freebie for the letters.

I decided to make the card base at this point. I didn’t adhere the main panel to it but I needed to get a sense of size and this is what helps me. It also helps with the color choices.

I started coloring with my Copic markers. The coloring of the book worms themselves I kept really simple and used the same colorway. I added other fun colors for the books. I also kept the coloring rather simple, using 2 color blends except for the worms.

The coloring is all done. I tried to match the background paper. Using the Old Type Alpha I spelled out the “Book Worm” and printed it out. I colored the letters green with my Copics. I die cut them with a small circle die and attached them to my card with foam tape. I added Glossy Accents to the worm eyes and added a green panel to the colored panel to frame in design. I also used the tiny letter stickers from my stash to put the titles of the books. I used a white gel pen for highlights, a Copic Multi-liner for the writing of the book names and my card was done!

This was such a fun card to color and put together! Any little one would be so happy to receive this card along with the book!

Til next time…
