Sasha’s Father’s Day bookmark craft

by Sasha

Hello everyone! Sasha here. With Father’s Day just around the corner, I wanted to share a simple yet thoughtful project that’s perfect for celebrating the dads and father figures in our lives, a custom-made Father’s Day bookmark! For this project, I used the Father’s Day Digital Stamp Set to create these fun, well-dressed bookmarks. I’ll be showing you two designs—similar in style, but each with its own unique look!

I started by uploading my chosen images into Cricut Design Space, allowing me to plant and resize the images to fit a bookmark measuring 2.5 inches by 7 inches. I sized the image to fit on the one bookmark like a suit. However, for the other image featuring the shirt and tie, I sized the image to be large enough that once printed, it could be trimmed down to measure 2.5 inches by 7 inches. From there, I printed the images onto cardstock and cut them using my Cricut Cutting machine. You can also use any word-processing software, such as Microsoft Office or Google Docs, to size and print your images.

To colour the images, I used my personal favourite colouring medium, alcohol markers! But feel free to use whatever medium you would like to colour and create your bookmarks – the possibilities are endless!

To create the jacket effect on the suit-style bookmark, I trimmed two black cardstock triangles measuring 1.75 inches by 7 inches. I first glued down the tie image, then layered the triangles on top using liquid adhesive to mimic the look of a suit. From there, you can add any extra touches, buttons, embellishments, or even a handwritten note on the back!

And that’s it! Your handmade Father’s Day bookmark is ready to gift! These bookmarks are the perfect fun yet personalized Father’s Day gift. Not only are they practical, but they are also easy to make!

Thanks for reading. See you next time!
