Party Animals handmade birthday invitations

by Sasha

Hello everyone! Sasha here. Today, I wanted to share these easy DIY birthday party invitations you can create using digital stamps! It’s the perfect way to create quick and simple party invites for any birthday party, especially since it gives little ones the chance to personalize and colour them! I’m going to be using the Party Animals Digital Stamps to create my invitations. However, if you’re running low on time, the coloured Party Animals Illustrations Clip Art Set is a great alternative!

I started by uploading a few of the images from the digital stamp set into Cricut Design Space. In Design Space, I placed the images into two shapes measuring 3” x 4”. I then placed a sentiment at the top and flattened all of the elements. If you do not have Cricut Design Space, other basic software will work, such as Microsoft Word.

Once I had my invites ready in Cricut Design Space, I then used the Print then Cut feature that Cricut offers to easily print the invitations and cut them to my desired size. Also using a paper trimmer works perfectly for this.

Now we can colour! I decided to colour my invitations using Ohuhu alcohol markers and Prismacolour Premier Coloured Pencils. However, any kind of art supplies can be used to do this! Whatever you have lying around – whether it be crayons, markers, or paints – can be used to create your invitations.

Here are the Ohuhu alcohol marker colour combinations I used:

  • Red: R8, R2, R3, R1
  • Yellow: Y070, Y050, Y040, Y030
  • Blue: B080, B070, B050, B040
  • Bear (brown): E430, E400, E380
  • Cat (gray): CG050, CG030, CG020

To finish off the invites, I decided to freehand a fun, kind of wonky, border around both of my invites – a fun way to add a bit more colour! I used a simple black fine liner/pen to do this.

And there you have it! A DIY set of birthday party invitations perfect for anyone of all ages.

Thanks for reading. See you next time!
