Love to Camp handmade card tutorial

by Betsy Birge

Hello everyone!  Hope summer is in full swing for you!  Summer and early fall are the loveliest times to go camping where I live.  So, today I’ve brought you a card made with The Great Outdoors digital stamp set!

I wanted to use elements that really brought out the camping spirit.  I also wanted to place them in a heart shape with the sign in the middle which I created first and then sized and placed my elements on top of the outline of the heart.

Warning here:  I used lots of colors!  I wanted to really bring out the flavor of camping and color my elements in a way that was familiar to me.

Copic colors used:  Y000, Y00, Y02, Y21, W1, W2, W3, W5, W7, YR23, YR31, YR68, E21, E31, E33, E35, E37, E25, E77, E79, YG11, YG23, YG63, YG17, G21, G85, G29, G94, B000, B12, B18, B24, C2, C3, C5, Y28, R02, R05, R37, 100, Blender

I prepared an A2 size white card base and covered it with a piece of yellow patterned paper.  I cut the focal fairy close to the outline leaving just a thin line of white showing.  I felt that the background paper was a great color, it really come off as rather plain.  So, using a leaf stencil, I chose a shade of yellow ink that was just a bit darker than the yellow of the paper.  This really came out well and gave just a subtle interest to the background.  I used a bit of blue pastel on the sky inside the heart and used that yellow ink for splatter.

I finished up by foam taping my focal onto the card and using yellow glitter glue in just a few places.

I hope you give the card a try.  I love the campy vibe of this…makes me want to go camping!

Til next time,

Betsy

Your September post is not working. When link is clicked on, all that comes up is a page with html code info.
