How do you celebrate? – December Blog Challenge

by Edeena

Congratulations to November’s blog challenge winner Melanie B! Please check your PMs over at The Lilypad for details of how to claim your prize! And now, on to this month’s challenge!

It’s the Silly Season! No matter how or where you are, share with us how you celebrate this time of year.

Way down south here in Australia, it’s hard to relate to scenes of snowmen or snow-draped landscapes. It’s hot. Depending on which part of the country you are living will depend where you celebrate (ie near the coast, at the beach, in the mountains, or in your own backyard). It’s too hot to cook huge meals, and seafood plays a fairly big part of the festivities because it can be cooked and then eaten cold. Not many of us celebrate anything with turkey, but we are pretty big cold ham consumers. Barbeques are also fairly typical (although depending on the weather, sometimes banned because of fire conditions). I know it’s Christmas time when it’s stinking hot, but my husband can’t get into the Christmassy feeling until July – being English, he is used to very cold Christmases. You’d think he’d be used to it after 10 years, but no…

I want to thank Kate because of these lovely Sinterklaasdoodles!
Is it allowed to show more layouts?
