April Showers Bring May Flowers spring card tutorial

by Sasha

Hello everyone! Now that spring has sprung, I can’t help but create some spring-themed projects! So, today, I’m sharing how I created this spring-themed card featuring the Signs of Spring Digital Stamp Set!

handmade spring flower card on a marble background

As always, I started by uploading the digital stamps into Cricut Design Space to help me design and plan my card. I used the crocus 1 and grass images to make this card. As for the sentiment, it was created in Cricut Design Space. Once I was happy with the sizing of my images and had my card all planned out, I used the Print then Cut feature to print out the images on 100lb Hammermill cardstock.

Now that the images are ready to go, it’s time to colour! I coloured the flowers and grass using the following Ohuhu alcohol markers:

Yellows: Y1, Y2, Y3, Y030, Y040. Purples: P4, V020, V030, V050, V060, V210. Pinks: R22, R120, RV320, RV330, RV350. Greens: G7, G470, GY1, GY2, G7

Once coloured, I created a simple background by ink-blending with blue ink to create a sky. The ink I used was the Simon Says Stamp Seafoam Ink.

To finish off the card, I adhered the grass, flowers, and the sentiment to a US A2-sized card base using liquid adhesive. I trimmed off the overhanging excess of the flowers using scissors.

Ta-da! That’s the finished project!

Thank you all for reading! See you next time!
