Hello everyone! I’m Betsy and I’m so excited to be here and having the chance to inspire you all with Kate Hadfield Designs. If you already love her designs like I do, then I hope this one will motivate you to give it a try!

Today I’m using the Lovey Dovey Toppers for my card project. I composed my image in my computer. I can size it, change the line color if I need to and move it around at this stage. I had this card fairly well planned in my head so I knew where I was going which was a big help.

Next I needed to pick out my papers. I wanted something colorful and fun and I love the paper that I ended up using.

I wanted to color my little girl as a redhead. There is orange and pink in the paper, so I felt certain that my hearts could be pink and her hair fairly orange and it would look good.

I colored my image using Copic markers. The colors I used were: RV10, RV63, RV17, RV09, EV55, E30, E31, E33, R81, E08, E18, E29, Y02, Y00,Y15, Y17. I picked these colors specifically to match my background paper.

I wanted to use this specific die. I knew my little girl would be sitting above the sentiment so I had to be careful about how thick the sentiment would be. I finally decided on one thickness in the pink for the actual letters and 3 layers of white card stock for the shadow die. Once these were cut and adhered together, I sprayed them with a sparkle spray.

Now I had all of my elements to put my card together.

I cut an American A2 size top folding card base – 4 ¼” x 5”. I cut a panel of pink tone-on-tone dotted pink paper just an 1/8” smaller and then I adhered my patterned paper which was 4” x 5 ¼”.

I adhered my sentiment first and it’s centered on the bottom. I put foam tape behind my little girl image and just overlapped the front of her on my sentiment. Time to add some sparkle and shine (my favorite part!). Inside of the pink flowers on the paper I added a bit of shimmer pen and to the hearts in her hair and the one in the envelope. I added some silver pearl tiny heart peel-offs to the envelope and I added dots to her sweater with a hot pink glitter gel pen. I used a white Posca Pen to highlight all the hearts, her eyes, her cheeks and her sweater. And that finished my card!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I’ll be seeing you again,
Betsy
