Summery Sugar Cone Wraps!

by Sara Lively

Hello everyone, and welcome to the start of a new series of lovely hybrid goodness, here on Kate’s blog!

Today I have a super-easy how-to for you that is prefect to share with your children – plus it comes with a freebie printable too! I’m showing you how to pop together this fun and summery sugar-cone wrap (or ice cream cone wrap to my fellow Brits!):

Looks pretty simple, right? Ready to have a go?

Firstly, print the freebie file out onto paper. Use your standard printer settings and regular paper, as at the end of the day, these adorable wraps are more than likely to get ikky with ice cream dribbles!

Next, cut out! I got my son to do this, using scissors:

Step 3 is to curl the wrap into shape. We did this simply to make the sticking part as straightforward as possible. Now i’s time to break out your double sided tape or even good old sticky tape (depending on what you have and what you want your kids to use). Apply the tape to the wrap’s tab, where the hash lines are, curl the wrap back into shape and stick the tap under the opposite side, so that it is hidden.

You may need to provide an extra pair of hands for this step, just to help stick the tab down securely. If this step seems too complicated for little ones, then don’t stress about it and just sticky tape the sides together – it may not be quite as neat but it will still look fun!

Finally, the best part: add the ice cream filled sugar cone, and remember to ooooh and ahhh if it was your children who put it all together!

As you can see, the wraps are decorated with doodles from Kate’s On the Beach collection:

This was an easy and summer-themed introduction to the wonderful world of digital hybrid, and I plan to bring you more over the next months. Some will be easy-peasy, some will be a little more challenging.  I hope to share tutorials, occasional freebies, Pinterest-ing ideas (I’m addicted to that site!), and who knows what else!?

If you have any hybrid or crafting related questions, suggestions or requests of things you’d like to see how to make, please just leave a comment and we’ll see what we can do to help 🙂

Enjoy the rest of July!
