Milk and Cookies Valentine’s Card

13 February 2023 by Kinjal Trivedi

Hello all and welcome to Kate Hadfield’s website and blog. Let me introduce myself as I have just started the wonderful journey of being on the Design Team with Kate Hadfield Designs. Hi, I’m Kinjal and I fell in love with Kate’s illustrations and knew that I wanted to be a part of this fun and exciting team. Hope you like what you see!

My first blog is dedicated to Valentine’s Day and all the food lovers out there. My love language is food and I love how this shaped card turned out.

I started with the milk bottle from the We Go Together Like stamp set and made it as big as possible. Once I printed it, I cut the image using scissors.

Then, I layered the cutout image on another white cardstock and drew a faint line to cut around (if you have a Cricut this would be straightforward). But before cutting, I made sure to leave a flap next to the edge of the bottle so that I could adhere the front bottle over the flap so that it would form an opening.

I colored the bottle with some soft pastel colors as it is a valentine’s day card. I used OLO markers to color the bottle cap, the bottle shade, and the milk inside. I added some finishing touches with a white gelly pen. Now your base is ready!

I did the same method for the two cookies in the front that I needed to open, except I couldn’t leave a flap as the cookie shape was uneven. I took a white scrap piece, cut it, folded it into half, and adhered the back piece to the back flap and the front piece to the front flap. I colored the cookies using Arteza brush pens. The chocolate chips were colored using polychromos. The best part is that you can’t go wrong with coloring cookies as they come in various shades of brown! I also added some gelly pen dots to give some more character to the cookies.

I added the quote “I Choco-love You!” between the two cookies.

I hope you like my first blog project for Kate Hadfield Designs. I will be sharing many more so do keep a lookout. I appreciate all the time you have spent with me.

See you next time!

About Kinjal Trivedi

I am Kinjal Trivedi, known as Mind My Paper on social media. Cardmaking fell into my lap when I moved to the USA in 2015, after getting married to my husband. I needed a way to find my creative outlet being away from my loved ones and cardmaking stole my heart. Although I didn’t seriously craft till 2021, that’s when I started blogging, working on DT teams and self-taught my way to happiness. I have since moved from the USA and travel the world every few years and cardmaking has been and is my main constant. I hope you find joy in my cards and know that they come from a place of love. I am so happy to spend the next few months here with Kate and her brilliantly fun and cute designs. Thanks for spending time with me!
