With summer in full swing for almost all of the Creative Team (with the exception of those living “down under”!) this month I asked the team to share one of their favourite recent pages or projects with me, regardless of theme or technique. I hope you enjoy this eclectic selection of pages and that they inspire you to be creative too!
Being a Geek by Jenni
“When I was young and would spend time indulging in my sci-fi and fantasy interests, it made me “weird.” There was also a push in my family to be more practical, to “get my head out of the clouds,” because we were a farm family and there was always work to be done. So it has become a double-win for me as I’ve seen my culture take on a name – Geek – and I’ve seen it become more mainstream and accepted. I also loved sharing these interests with my daughter as I was raising her, and now sharing them with my grandson.”
Always… RIP Alan Rickman by Christa
“Using Kate Hadfield’s Wizardry & Monster Lab kits, and being the Harry Potter fan that I am, after Alan Rickman passed away, I wanted to do a tribute page of him in remembrance. I will say it is probably among my top favorite pages I have made. I love making HP pages with Kate’s Wizardry doodles!”
NYC 2015 Trip Summary by Melanie
“Hip Hip Hipster is one of my favourite doodle packs! I have wanted to use it for a long time, but I could never find the right layout for the doodles. I finally found the perfect photos to go with this set – my trip to NYC in 2015! Kate’s doodles are so versatile. I thought Hip Hip Hipster was perfect for New York!”
Autumn Trees by Kirstie
“I love this photo taken in my front yard. I added Kate’s doodles to the bottom edge to flow from the photo and created a little scene.”
Song Spinning by Bethany
“This was one of my favorite pages to create during The Lilypad’s Month of Challenges. It really did stretch and challenge me to create a page with an original Song and Album Title that sums up my life… but once those juices got rolling… I couldn’t stop with just one song. I went ahead and broke my life into seasons and places I’ve lived and absolutely love what I came up with. Kate’s Hipster kit went perfectly with the theme of the page as well :)”
Inukshuk by Berniek
“This is one of my favourite layouts. Because 1) it’s about one of my biggest adventures and most treasured times, 2) I love these photos of me and the Inukshuks, and 3) I remember looking everywhere for suitable kits to scrap my Olympic photos back in the day and not finding it and then suddenly Kate was there with this awesome kit!! I wish I could go back in time. Or just back to Canada and visit all these places again. Oh well, I’ll always have the photos to scrap!”
Farm Animals by Kristina
“I think this is one of my recent favorites. I really liked how simple this project was, and how much fun my kids thought the puppets were. Holding them up while singing “E-I-E-I-O” is a great deal of fun for a three year old!”
Op De Boerderji by Natascha
“I actually…really, really love this one!”
