Betsy’s All Together animal card

by Betsy Birge

Hello everyone!  Betsy here bringing this encouraging card using Both of Kate’s newest stamp sets:  Animal Pals: Lions and Animal Pals: Bears along with Walk In The Woods for the frog, Fantabulous Fall for the squirrel, and Nativity for the lamb.  Let me show you how I made my card!

I composed my images so that together they formed one image.  I had planned on fussy cutting this out so this made it very easy. I started my coloring with the lion and the frog.  The lion is the biggest image so I wanted to color that first.  Then I colored the frog.

I did decide to add a small puddle of water under the frog to help him stand out a bit more and then I also used that blue in the fish.

I finished the coloring and then fussy cut the image. Then I went to my stash to find background paper.  The paper I found was unexpected, but I thought it went really well with the vibe of the card.

I used a center-step card base for this project.  I used 2 different papers from the same paper pad for continuity.  I also die cut my sentiment.  I decided to leave it white instead of coloring it.

I foam taped the image onto my card base.  I added Glossy Accents to The acorn, noses of the bear, lamb and lion, the hoofs of the lamb, and the eyes of the frog and his dots. I added white gel pen high-lights to these places as well.  Just to give definition to the ground that the animals were standing on I used some fake “grass”…I think this may be like Flower Soft, but I’m not sure.  I’ve had it forever and the name of it is “Grass In A Jar”.  It’s from a company that is no longer in business.  But I thought it looked great under the animals.  I stuck it onto the card with Glossy Accents.  The sentiment is also popped up on foam tape.  And that finished my project!

This card was fun to make and I think it would be a great encouragement card for a friend!

Til next time…
