Thank you for your interest in Kate Hadfield Designs! I create hand-drawn illustrations (also known as doodles!) for scrapbookers, crafters and teachers. You may use my illustrations in your personal, not-for-profit projects and for limited educational commercial use as outlined below. By downloading any of my illustration packs you are confirming your agreement to the Terms of this single user license. Please note that these Terms of Use are subject to change with the current version always available here.

PERSONAL AND CLASSROOM USE

You may use the illustrations for your own personal crafting and classroom use (in projects that are not shared, distributed or offered for sale) with no restrictions. Have fun and get creative!

EDUCATIONAL COMMERCIAL USE

• This licence covers the use of Kate Hadfield Designs’ illustrations in the creation of secure, printable and downloadable educational resources offered for sale or distributed for free on single-owner Teacher Author blogs/websites and multi-vendor educational websites such as Teachers Pay Teachers, Lehrermarktplatz / Eduki, TES and Mieux Enseigner and also on Etsy. The licence does NOT allow products to be distributed (either for free or as paid resources) on other websites including, but not limited to, Amazon Ignite, eBay or any app store.
• Educational content must be added to the illustrations and your resources must contain your own written intellectual property. You must use the illustrations to enhance your work, not form the main component of your resource (some exclusions for early reader activities, vocabulary and phonics resources apply, please see below).
• Documents must be created by you and supplied in a secure format (illustrations must be flattened and locked in the resource file) to protect your investment in the artwork and to prevent extraction from the document. You must ensure that the illustrations cannot be copied, extracted or shared from within the resource.
• This is a single-user, non-transferable, non-assignable, non-sublicensable license.

Educational Commercial Use – Full Terms of Use

Please find below a comprehensive list of usages covered by the standard license for all my clip art packs. Please note that when you purchase a clip art set you do not purchase the rights to the artwork, instead you are purchasing a license to use that artwork according to the artist’s Terms of Use. If you are interested in using my illustrations in a resource type not listed here, or if you have any questions regarding these terms please get in touch.

Educational Resources (PDF format)

You must ensure that the artwork (and your investment in that artwork!) is secure within the file by flattening the illustrations into the background and password protecting. Your own written intellectual property must be included in the resource. Credit is required with a clickable link to my website or Teachers Pay Teachers store.

EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES: learning activities & resources (PDF format)	Your resource must contain unique educational content with a clear instructional purpose for use in the classroom. Your own written intellectual property must be included in the resource. You must use the illustrations to enhance your work, not form the main component of your resource (some exclusions for early reader activities, vocabulary and phonics resources apply, please see below).
IMAGE HEAVY RESOURCES: early readers, vocabulary and phonics learning tools (PDF format)	Image heavy resources that rely on illustrations to be effective learning tools (early reader activities, vocabulary and phonics resources) are allowed but the resource must include educational content. You must include your own written intellectual property (for example in the form of instructions, teacher notes or other suggestions for use) within the resource, the resource must not comprise solely of illustrations. NB: It is encouraged that you layer the illustrations (with other graphics, backgrounds, borders and text where appropriate) to better protect the artwork and to create unique resources that set you apart!
IMAGE HEAVY RESOURCES: colouring resources (PDF)	You may NOT create colouring books, colouring pages or other such resources that comprise solely or predominantly of the illustrations. Colour-by-number, colour-by-letter and colour-by-code activities are allowed providing there is a clear educational component added to the illustrations so that they are not isolated graphics. You must include your own written intellectual property (in the form of instructions for students, teacher notes or other suggestions for use) within the resource. It is encouraged that you layer the illustrations (with other graphics, backgrounds, borders and text where appropriate) to create your own unique resource.
IMAGE HEAVY RESOURCES: classroom décor	Classroom décor items with little or no learning value (for example: classroom labels, writing paper, banners, classroom decorations, notes to students, punch cards etc) are NOT permitted under the Terms of this Standard Licence. Please see the Extended License options for Classroom Décor.

Paperless & Digital resources

The usual requirements of educational content and instructional intellectual property apply. Credit is required with a clickable link to my website or Teachers Pay Teachers store.

PAPERLESS RESOURCES: background images for PowerPoint, Keynote, SMARTboard, Google Classroom (Google Drive and Slides) and Microsoft OneDrive	You may use the illustrations to create background images in paperless / digital resources for the following platforms: PowerPoint, Keynote, SMARTboard, Google Classroom (Google Drive and Slides) and Microsoft OneDrive. The illustrations must be flattened with other images, shapes and/or text to create a secure background. You may NOT distribute (for free or as paid resources) digital templates, editable games or other image-based resources with little or no educational content. This license does not cover usage in other free or commercial apps, software or other platforms.
PAPERLESS RESOURCES: Boom Learning	You may use the illustrations for both background images and unedited moveable pieces in Boom Learning resources as Boom secures the illustrations within the file.
PAPERLESS RESOURCES: move-able elements	UPDATE MARCH 2020 MOVE-ABLE ELEMENTS: Due to this time of uncertainty and the increased demand for home-schooling and distance learning resources these Terms Of Use have been updated as follows: You may use the illustrations to create moveable elements within your resource by combining the illustration(s) with other layers and then saving those layers as a single png or jpg before inserting into your resource. You must ensure that the original illustrations cannot be lifted from your resource. Combine the illustrations by adding: 1. BACKGROUNDS: Combining the illustration with a patterned background shape or shapes. Please note that solid colours are easily removed and should not be used. 2. TEXT OVERLAY: By layering bold text over the illustration, covering at least 1/3 of the image. 3. BACKGROUND & TEXT: Combining the illustration with a patterned background and a text overlay is the ideal combination, both for protecting the artwork and to help you create unique resources! You may NOT use the illustrations as moveable pieces in resources that are distributed for free, permission for moveable pieces only applies to resources that are offered for sale.
VIDEO: for promotion or as part of a learning resource	You may use the illustrations in your video resources and in promotional videos for your learning resources. Credit must be given where possible (for example as a text overlay in the video itself and as a clickable link in the video description).
DIGITAL STICKERS	You may NOT use the illustrations in the creation of digital stickers to be offered for sale or for free distribution.

Social Media & Advertising

SOCIAL MEDIA	You may use the illustrations in social media posts for your Teacher Author business as long as the following conditions are met: • You do not make or sell clip art or graphics • The illustrations are combined with other images and text to create your image • Credit is given to Kate Hadfield Designs on the post image itself and with a clickable link to my website or profile in the post text where possible (for example to my Instagram profile @katehadfielddesigns, or Facebook page @katehadfielddesigns) You may NOT: • use the illustrations to create business or blog logos or other business branding images • use the illustrations to create social media logos or profile pictures • use the illustrations in a way which implies that you are the creator of those illustrations
TPT BANNERS & ADVERTISING IMAGES	You may use the illustrations to create banners and advertising images for your Teacher Author store as long as the following conditions are met: • You do not make or sell clip art or graphics • The illustrations are combined with other images and text to create your image • Credit is given to Kate Hadfield Designs where possible You may NOT: • use the illustrations to create business or blog logos or other business branding images • use the illustrations in a way which implies that you are the creator of those illustrations
PRODUCT PREVIEWS & COVER IMAGES	You may use the illustrations to enhance your Teacher Author product previews and covers as long as the preview or cover also includes images of your resource (photographs or screenshots for example). You may NOT use the illustrations to form the majority of the preview or cover. You may NOT use the illustrations to create previews, covers or promotional images for your own clip art illustrations or other graphics.
PINTEREST PIN IMAGES	You may use the illustrations to create Pinterest pin images for your resources as long as the pin image includes images of your resource (photographs or screenshots) and you have used those same illustrations within that resource. You may NOT use the illustrations to form the majority of the Pinterest pin image, or to make pin images for products where you have not used the illustrations. You may NOT upload or pin the individual illustrations themselves.
EDUCATIONAL BLOGS	You may use the illustrations to create images for use on your personal educational blog or website (with the exception of logos and business branding images). Illustrations must be combined and layered with other images and/or text, flattened with a coloured - not white - background (no transparency), reduced in size and reduced in resolution to a maximum of 100 dpi. Credit is required with a clickable logo or text link to my website within your blog post, sidebar or footer. You may NOT post full size illustrations, or isolated or individual illustrations on your blog, you must combine the illustrations with other images, backgrounds and/or text. You may NOT use the illustrations to create blog logos, or blog themes, graphics or templates for distribution or resale.

Copyright

• All artworks by Kate Hadfield (Kate Hadfield Designs) are protected under UK and international copyright law and the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). When you purchase these illustrations you are purchasing a single-user, non-transferable licence to use the illustrations as per these Terms, NOT the rights to the illustrations. Kate Hadfield Designs retains the copyright to the images, all rights are reserved.
• The digital graphics (“illustrations”) covered by this licence include: doodles/clip art, digital stamps/line art, papers, overlays and alphabet sets created by Kate Hadfield Designs. Please note that this licence does NOT allow for the commercial use of any printable craft activities, including both the “Colour In” range of printables and colouring pages. These craft activities, colouring pages and colouring crafts are licensed for personal and classroom use only: they may not be shared or distributed nor combined into any derivative works.
• The illustrations may not be resold, copied, claimed as your own, altered or used to create derivative artworks. The illustrations are not to be resold, distributed, gifted, shared or traded. By downloading the illustrations, you agree to the Terms of Use as outlined in this licence.

Prohibited Uses:

• YOU MAY NOT create resources for others to use in the creation of their own products or courses, your resources must be for personal / classroom use only.
• YOU MAY NOT use the illustrations to create either free or paid printed or tangible products other than school yearbooks and merchandise as mentioned above.
• YOU MAY NOT use the illustrations to create either free or paid clip art, other graphics, digital stickers, crafting or scrapbook products, needlecraft patterns, invitations or other stationery or scrapbooking items (including but not limited to: scrapbook kits, printed or downloadable stationery items, collage sheets, scrapbook templates or quick pages).
• YOU MAY NOT use Kate Hadfield Designs’ craft activities or colouring pages in your resources and documents, craft and colouring activities are licensed for personal/classroom use only. No income can be generated from the use of my craft activities and printables.
• YOU MAY NOT use the illustrations in apps or software development, for items of mass production or art licencing.
• YOU MAY NOT recolour or otherwise alter the illustrations (please contact me for removal of facial features for religious reasons or for any other similar small amendments to the illustrations, I’m always happy to help!)

How to give credit

Credit is required on all resources (whether offered for free download or for sale) where you have used my illustrations. Please add a clickable text link or a image linked to my website or to my Teachers Pay Teachers store within your document. Images and logos for this purpose are included in the product download files in my Teachers Pay Teachers shop (you can also drop me an email and I’ll send them to you!). Credit is not necessary on every page within your document, a link on your credits page is ideal!
