Von Marie’s Grumpy Bear candy treat topper

Hello everyone. Von Marie here with my latest project.  I’m so happy I made a Treat Topper with this cute  Bear and other digital stamps. I got excited remembering my childhood and this Grumpy bear and his friends were my favorite growing up. So, at my grocery store I picked this candy bag up and I wanted to make a project with it somehow.

I first chose a few stamps like the Bear, and heart from Sweet as Candy Stamp set. I also chose  clouds(not shown) and rain drops from Whatever The Weather stamp set. I also placed a cloud, rain drops, and heart on his tummy before printing them on white cardstock.

Next, I colored the bear using my Copic Markers, and Prismacolor Colored Pencils. I was trying to mimic the candy bag but of course this bear is happy and the one on the candy bag is not. So I did my best and still had fun.

I fussy cut my images and found a treat topper die set in my stash. It’s very easy if you don’t have a die. Fold a paper in half and cut with scissors your desired size to fit your project.

I picked out some blue paper that I thought matched my candy bag.

Of course you can use ink or paint or markers to color your treat topper.

Now it’s time to put this Treat Topper together. I used liquid glue and used the layering die that comes with the topper die to cut out the rain drops image. I also used a tape runner to adhere the bear to the topper. I placed the clouds, and handwritten sentiment by me.

I loved making this Treat Topper as I love to gift  candy and other sweets. I also love to receive them too. I hope you enjoy and make some cute treat toppers.
