Hello all, thank you for stopping by! Easter is coming up soon, so I thought I’d share a sweet card I made, twice!

Haha, yup! It all happens to us when we make a card that doesn’t look like the one we had envisioned, and we want to restart but it took hours to make in the first place! So instead of restarting from scratch, I tried and salvaged as many pieces as I could from the original card. A little bit of heat gun and all the pieces came out, well almost all. And I used scissors to cut around the ones that refused to leave the page. All in all, a happy story in the end.
I decided to go with a slimline card as it would allow me to showcase all the parts. The images are from the Hoppy Easter stamp set. I started with using the images from this stamp set and formatting them on PowerPoint as that helps me print the images well and according to the size I want.

I print them on Neenah cardstock and colored the images using a mix of markers, and watercolor paints. I wanted a pink and brown theme with hints of green. I fussy cut the images after coloring them and giving them a black edge with a black marker. I used a sticker for the sentiment.

On the background piece, I streaked a line of Nuvo embellishment mousse Chai Latte. After drying, I organized the pieces in the background. I used foam tape for the watering can to add some dimension to the card. Using the Clear Nuvo crystal drops, I added small dots over the flowers to give a dewy water look. I also added some plain round paper stickers and added a big dollop of the Nuvo drops to give more dimension.

I wanted a little bit more color, so I used a brown inkpad and smudged it around the card. To add a little more interest, I rounded two of the edges of the card front using a punch. Then I glued the front on a folder card front measuring 3.5X 8.25 inches and rounded off the edges of that as well.

I really had a fun time recreating this card and honestly, it’s not always fun to discard. So before doing that, try if you can salvage it or recreate the design before throwing your art away. Hope you liked this!
See you soon and Happy Easter to all of you celebrating.
