I’m thrilled to be able to share another project from my super-talented paper crafting friend Núria with you today! You might remember Núria’s Halloween projects from the last couple of years, this year she has turned her hand to creating something very very Christmassy!
This fabulous junk journal will be Núria’s December Daily® project, she will journal about her month and add photos and mementos of her December to the pages. Núria has also created a selection of decorated tags, that will be used as place settings on her Christmas table (with her guest’s names stamped on the back!) and also form part of her journal.

If you’d like to create a similar junk journal, Núria has shared a step-by-step tutorial over on her YouTube channel that you can follow along with. You’ll need a large envelope, some fabric to create the cover, scrapbook papers, vellum, tags and beads, washi tape and stickers to decorate, along with your favourite digi supplies!

Núria created the journal from scratch, using a large fabric covered envelope as the cover and adding a mixture of scrapbook paper, vellum, and coffee stained papers to create the pages. Some of the pages have Christmas doodles printed on them, others are decorated with distress ink and stencils, washi-tape and patterned papers.

The front cover has an extra fabric pocket to hold more tags and goodies, while the back cover opens out to allow access to another pocket, cleverly created from the original envelope.

The tags themselves have distressed edges and have been decorated with a mixture of printed doodles, stickers, washi tapes and ribbon. Núria added some strips of paper to some of the pages in the journal to hold the tags in place until the big day.

She also added some more fun touches by creating her own decorated paper clips by printing the same doodle design twice (with one of the images reversed!) and adhering the cut out illustrations back to back on the paper clip. I especially like the Santa hat clip!

If you’d like to make your own junk journal, you can follow along with the video tutorial or sit back and enjoy all the fun little details in the walkthrough video showcasing the completed journal. Many thanks to Núria for making my doodles look so good and for giving me permission to share this AMAZING journal here! Feliz Navidad!
