“This is such a Canadian moment! More people come out in -9 C weather to see the Santa Claus Parade than came out in the middle of summer to see the Canada Day parade! We’re crazy like that. This was my first Santa Claus parade in many, many years. This was also the first snowstorm of the season in 2013 & some of the floats had trouble getting up the hill in the middle of my town. There was a big lull in the parade while they figured out how to get the vehicles going, so the kids all piled into the road to play in the snow. It was so fun! Kate doodles perfectly capture the playfulness of the whole evening!”

“Christmas evening is when I let my inner geek go full-throttle as I get ready to watch the “Doctor Who” Christmas episode. My poor family knows to just leave Mom alone with her Doctor after the festivities are over and the guests are gone home. I’m sure that, as with all things in TV, this tradition will end someday, and it will be a sad day indeed for this Whovian.”
