How do I place an order in the shop?

As you browse the shop you can add items to your shopping cart by clicking on the Add To Cart buttons. (You can also add products to your shopping cart from your Wish List). When are have finished shopping, click on the link to Checkout at the top of the shop. You could also click the link to the Shopping Cart to look over your selections before you check out and to add any discount or promotional voucher codes. If this is your first time shopping with me you be asked to create an account before you can complete the checkout. Once you are logged in to your account you can go on to complete the checkout process where you will be directed to the PayPal website to complete your payment. PayPal will handle the transaction safely and securely without sharing any of your financial information. Once your payment has been placed at PayPal you will be directed back to the store where your download links will be waiting for you!

What types of payment do you accept?

We accept PayPal payments (either from a PayPal account or their credit/debit card service) and Kate Hadfield Designs gift certificates. If your preferred payment method is to use a credit card outside of PayPal, please visit my my store at The Lilypad where the facility to pay directly with credit/debit card is available. No echecks or money orders can be accepted.

What currency are your prices listed in?

The default currency for the shop is US Dollars, however you can pay in a different currency via the PayPal checkout process.

How will I receive my downloads?

Your downloads are available to you as soon as your payment has been processed by Paypal and you have been returned to the store. You can access your downloads by clicking on the My Account link at the top of the website  and then on the Download link or if you are already logged into the store, by clicking on the Downloads link in the sidebar. You’ll be taken to your download page where links to your downloads can be found! Please note that while you will be emailed a confirmation of your order, the email will not contain your download links and you will need to visit the store to download your purchases.

I am having trouble downloading my purchases, what should I do?

Unfortunately, download errors aren’t uncommon, especially when downloading large files! Sometimes it’s not possible to tell that a download hasn’t been completed until you come to unzip the file. If you get an error saying the zip file is empty, damaged or corrupt, it is most likely that the download has interrupted or has not been completed successfully. Please delete the corrupt zip file from your computer  along with any files that did unzip and empty the recycle bin. Then log back in to your account and download the file again. Downloading the file to a different location on your computer can also help. If you are still having problems, or have used all of your 5 download attempts, please contact me for assistance.

I see there are 5 downloads for each product I have bought, do I need to download them all?

In a word: no! The shop allows 5 attempts to download each file. Downloads are often interrupted and so the shop allows you 5 attempts to download each file to your own computer. Once you have successfully downloaded and unzipped a file there is no need to download it again.

How do I use a discount code?

Discount codes such as those contacted in the Kate Hadfield Designs newsletter and Promotion codes such as those featured in magazines or special promotions can be entered in the shopping cart. Simple enter the code into the relevant box and click the button to apply the code. The discount will then be applied to your order.

How do I redeem a Gift Certificate?

The email containing your Gift Certificate information with also contain a unique redemption code. You can enter this code into the Gift Certificate box at the bottom of the shopping cart to redeem your gift!

Can I give a Kate Hadfield Designs gift certificate to a friend?

You certainly can! You can purchase Gift Certificates by clicking the Gift Certificate link in the sidebar and entering your details and the recipient’s details along with a personal message. You can then checkout in the usual way and your Gift Certificate will be emailed to the recipient for them to redeem in the store.

What can I use your designs for?

You can use my designs for all your personal use crafting needs such as creating digital scrapbook pages, hybrid scrapbook pages, greetings cards, school projects, invitations, gift wrap, decorations and anything else you can think of! Please read my Terms of Use for more information.

Can I use your products in my Scrap For Hire business?

You may use my designs to create one-off, custom designed SCRAPBOOK LAYOUTS for your clients where the client received a flattened image file or a printed copy. You may NOT use my designs to create other products for sale or to be given away as freebies. This includes, but is not limited to, digital or traditional scrapbooking items, quickpages, invitations, stationery or printable projects. Are your products available for commercial use?

No. My products are all personal use and limited Scrap for Hire friendly, no other commercial usage is allowed. You can see my full Terms of Use here.

What size and quality are your designs?

All my designs are the highest quality 300 dpi files to give you superb print quality! Doodles and alphabets are supplied as individual png files (with a transparent background) while papers are 12″x12″ jpg files. My Sketchbook Pages range of papers are png files to allow transparency along those lovely ripped out edges! Consequently, they are large files and are supplied in two download files. Doodles are generously sized to allow for larger scale hybrid projects.

What are ‘doodles’?

My doodles are my own hand drawn and coloured illustrations that I then scan and turn into digital elements. I like to think of them as the digital equivalent of stickers, but with the added bonus of being easy to re-size and re-colour digitally!

What is a zip file and how do I use it?

Zip files are an easy way of compressing data to make it faster and easier to transfer large files over the internet. Your purchases will be supplied as a zip file containing one or more folders. Once you save your download from the store (remember whereabouts on your computer you downloaded it to!) you will need to unzip the contents of the zip before you can use them. If you are using Windows XP or Windows 7, you can simply right-click on the zip file and select ‘Extract All’ to unzip everything! Programs such as WinZip are a good option if your operating system doesn’t have a built-in unzip utility.

What software do I need to use these designs?

My range of Printable Projects has been designed to need no extra software, you can simply download the product and print off the files as they are! The Digital Stamps range can also be printed without any further software (although you might prefer to  arrange a number of stamps onto a single A4 or letter sized document before printing to make the most of the paper!)

For digital scrapbooking, other digital crafts and to resize / recolour and print my designs ready for use in hybrid crafts you will need an image editing program such as Adobe Photoshop Elements, Adobe Photoshop or Corel PaintShop Pro (all three offer free trial downloads of the software so you can try before you buy!) Other options for creating digital scrapbook layouts include any digital scrapbooking software that allows you to import or open jpg and png files, such as Craft Artist.

How many times can I use the designs I purchase from your store?

As many times as you like! In my opinion this is one of the best things about digital crafting, you can re-use (and resize and recolour) digital products as often as you wish!
