Today I would like to share with you a little hybrid project that my CT member Sharon put together to help her with those never-ending household chores! My kids thought this was such fun, it might even encourage them to help out with the chores a bit more often! Here’s Sharon to talk you through how you can make your own version:
“Every week, it’s hard for me to keep track of the weekly cleaning chores that I need to get done around the house. In order to remember what has been done and what hasn’t, I create a handy to-do list in a few easy steps:
- Kate Hadfield’s Spring Clean pack
- Kate Hadfield’s Comic Black alpha
- Kate’s Hadfield’s Big Top bundle pack
- Velcro Dots
Step 1: Create and print a “to do” list from Kate’s Spring Clean pack, alpha from Kate’s Comic Black set and papers from Kate’s Big Top bundle pack. Select icons to represent each chore that needs to be completed. Print one copy of the list and then lighten the icons for the chores and print a second copy- this will be your base. Laminate both copies.
Step 2: Cut out the chore icons from your first copy.
Step 3: You will need Velcro dots which are available at any craft store. Adhere one side of the Velcro dots to the main to-do list, sticky side should be facing downwards. Continue for all chore icons on the “to do” side and do the same for the “do” side of the list. Then for the “to do” side only, add the second side of the Velcro dot directly on top of first Velcro dot facing each other, sticky side should be facing upwards.
Step 4: Place the corresponding laminated chore icon on top of the sticky side of the dot and press down. Continue for all chore icons. As you complete the chores, move the chores from the left side of the chart to the right side.
This chart can be used for anything you want to keep track of so feel free to use icons from any of Kate’s numerous packs to create your own! Happy crafting!”
