It’s the first Friday of the month and that means it’s BYOC time! I have two new products for you today: some new Also Edgy papers and some cheerful Flora-Joodles flowers! This month’s palette felt very springlike to me (we’re just starting to see some signs of spring here now and we’ve even had the odd sunny day!) so I immediately knew I wanted to make some flowers! I also enjoyed getting painty while making my Edgy papers last week and so I got my paints out again to make another Edgy pack of colourful papers to coordinate with the flowers! All the BYOC collection is on sale at 20% off all weekend.
I’m working hard trying to get some new doodles finished for the new March BYOC collection at the moment, here’s what’s on my desk today:
- flower doodles (I just started inking them up when I remembered to take a photo, so some are pre and some post-ink!)
- aquatone crayons (must buy the full set of these, they’re lovely!)
- colour soft pencils
- watercolour pencils
- inktense pencils (my absolute favourite!)
- watercolour paints and water pens
- pitt pens
- moleskine sketchbook
- spiral bound notebook
- lovely, messy, paint covered board that I put my papers on while I paint them (in an attempt to clean my desk clean – or clean-ish!)
What’s on your workdesk today?
Thank you to everyone who entered the custom doodle contest, whether here on my blog, or over on my Facebook page or via email – I’ve had such a wonderful response and it was great fun to read through all the suggestions! I’ve just emailed / messaged the random winners (please check your “other” message folder if you entered on Facebook!) and will be starting work on the winning doodles this week! Watch this space to find out what themes I picked out of the hat!! Thanks again to everyone who entered.
Thank you to everyone who entered February’s blog challenge and congratulations to random winner Michelle (aka VinGirl) with her great entry all about her plans for the coming summer! And speaking of the weather, who is ready for spring? I cannot wait for some warmer temperatures and for all the snow to melt. Do you live in a snowy climate or are you in the middle of summer temps?
Okay, on to our challenge. I LOVE Paper Source so this month’s inspiration came from one of their emails. I enjoy looking through their catalogues and visiting the store when possible. They have the best colors and prints. I buy their big wall calendar every year to hang at my desk at work. On the back of it there are templates to make cards, folders, or tags so it truly is reusable. I thought this email would make a fun layout. I love the little banner at the top and the way the calendars are laid out so I turned it into a template. You know the drill.. complete the challenge by March 31, 2014 for a chance to win a $15.00 gift card to Kate Hadfield’s shop!
Inbox Inspiration from Paper Source:
I really enjoyed playing around with all my art supplies to create my Art Joodles earlier this month, and so this week I decided to get inky again and make some more! My Creative Team girls had also asked for some new papers, so while I had my stash of old book pages and paints out I got to work making some new painted papers to coordinate with the Joodles! Art Joodles: Geometrics and Edgy papers are both new in the stores today and are 20% off all weekend!
