Today’s new releases were created for some of the winners of my recent Custom Doodle Contest! I had a handful of entries requesting an Easter pack to compliment my Nativity pack and He Is Risen! is the result! Thank you to everyone who suggested this theme and who collaborated with me to create all the little bits and pieces included in this pack, it was wonderful to work with you all!
I have really enjoyed being more artsy and painterly with my new releases lately and so when I saw April’s BYOC palette I knew straightaway that I wanted to get my paints and vintage book pages out again to make something “joodly”!! I have two new products for this month’s BYOC: Joodle Strips and Joodle Journalers, as usual both are 20% off all weekend!
Here’s What’s On My Workdesk this week:
- lots of pens (part of my search for the perfect white pen! The Posca paint marker is still my favourite so far in case you were wondering)
- sheet of brush stroke exercises, I haven’t painted for a long time so I’m brushing up (ha ha! geddit?!) on my painting skills!
- new book page border doodles (a sneak peak of the upcoming BYOC godies)
- big pile of as yet unread magazines, I am going to treat myself to a lazy evening in front of the TV and read them all tonight hopefully!
- current edition of Simply Cards and Papercraft along with a sheet of the drawings I made for the magazine
Here’s a different photo of the magazine and sketches including my preliminary pencil sketches, my final coloured versions and the how they appeared in the magazine. You can see where I changed my mind about the lion’s face and redrew him with a more rounded face (bottom left corner of the pencil sketch). I dug out my coloured versions to compare mine with those in the magazine, one of the things I enjoy the most about making digital stamps is seeing how everyone uses them differently and how they take on their own personality with all the different choices of colour and pattern!
Happy WOYWW everyone! I am looking forward to noseying around everyone’s desks again this week. 🙂
Congratulations to the random winner of March’s blog challenge: jennmccabe with her fabulous “Favorite Things” layout! Congratulations Jenn, please check your inbox over at The Lilypad for details of how to claim your prize!
Are you ready for April’s challenge? This month I have something a little geometric-y for you. (Is that a word?) Anyway, I received this email from Old Navy and loved the vertical shapes and thought it would make an interesting template. You know how this works, download the template and complete a page by April 30, 2014 for a chance to win a $15.00 gift card to Kate Hadfield’s shop!

Happy St Patrick’s Day to you! If you are Irish (or even if you would like to be Irish!!) I hope that you have a lovely day celebrating today! When a customer recently contacted me asking for a “lady leprechaun” to go with my Luck of the Irish pack I thought it would be a good opportunity to create the matching stamp packs for both my St Patrick’s Day inspired doodles! The new Luck of the Irish and St Paddy’s Pranks doodle and stamps packs are now available in the shop!
